Fire crews rescue horse from river

A horse which was stuck in a river near Burton Latimer was rescued by firefighters this morning (Friday, May 3) at about 9am.

Fire crews from Burton Latimer and Wellingborough were called to the scene, which was in a field about half a mile from the rear of Bosworth’s Garden Centre, in Finedon Road.

They spent about 30 minutes freeing the animal.

During the rescue, one of the vehicles brought to the scene by firefighters became stuck in a muddy field.

Staff from the garden centre used a mini-digger to try and help firefighters free the vehicle.
