Firefighters in Northamptonshire have announced a series of strikes which will take place this weekend between Friday and Sunday (May 2 and 4).
The action is being taken because of an ongoing dispute between firefighters and the Government over pensions.
The strikes will take place between midday and 5pm on Friday, from 2pm on Saturday until 2am on Sunday morning, and between 10am and 3pm on Sunday.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Fire Service said: “This is a testing time for the UK Fire and Rescue Service, but we are taking every precaution to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum and planning has been underway for some considerable months to ensure that the service will continue to be able to respond to emergencies.
“Northamptonshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service is also working in partnership with our neighbouring authorities and other emergency services to ensure we have the right resources in place and we are confident that we will be able to provide an emergency response service to the residents of Northamptonshire and continue to protect communities.
