A fire crew tackled a blaze on land in Kettering town centre yesterday (Wednesday, July 24).

Flames took hold of land near to the Keystone Youth Club in Rockingham Road at just after 7pm.

About 150 square metres of grassland and shrubs went up in flames.

A crew from Burton Latimer was called to the incident at 7.08pm, a spokesman for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue has confirmed, with the fire being brought under control at just before 8pm.
