Fire ripped through a pharmaceutical company today in Corby as 80 firefighters from all over the county and crews from neighbouring Leicestershire fought the blaze.
The fire started at about 8.45am in a warehouse, 100m by 100m, at Catalent Soltions in Headway, on the Oakley Vale industrial Estate.
The roof of the building caved in sending flames and palls of black smoke, which could be seen from Kettering, into the sky. It is not known when the company’s 200 employees will be able to return to work.
The fire service is urging residents to stay indoors away from the large volumes of black smoke coming from the blaze.
People living in the area are being told to keep their doors and windows closed.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
