Rushden Town Council is hopeful its application for £1.5m of Lottery funding will be granted – as members bid to make sweeping improvements to Hall Park.

It has begun the application process for the Heritage Lottery funds and will hear the result in around 18 months’ time.

The potential improvements will include work on the walls surrounding the park, new paths, lighting and benches.

The council also hopes to set up a nature trail within the park for the town’s youngsters to enjoy.
