A £100 prize is being offered to anyone who can find Polly the Parrot hiding in a hanging basket in Wellingborough town centre.
A further £500 will be donated to the competition winner’s chosen local charity.
Tom Butler Flower Hire Service, in Rock Street, Wellingborough, is holding the competition to support local businesses and charities.
Polly is hiding in one of the 134 hanging baskets which adorn streets in Wellingborough town centre, including Cambridge Street, Oxford Street, Midland Road, Silver Street and Market Street.
The competition opens today, Thursday, June 6, and closes on Friday, June 28, when the winning entrant will be drawn by John Cable from the Wellingborough Business Improvement District.
Participants must not remove Polly from her perch.
Once they have spotted her they should write to Tom Butler Flower Hire Service and provide details of exactly where she is.
Entries must also include the applicant’s name, address, telephone number and their chosen local charity.
The charity must be locally-based in order to enter.
Tom Butler said: “We are doing this to support the local charities and the businesses in Wellingborough.
“Polly will be in one of the baskets in the town centre.”
Employees of Tom Butler Flower Hire Service, past and present, and their families cannot enter the competition.
Only one entry per person is permitted.
To enter the competition, write to Tom Butler Flower Hire Service, Rock Street, Wellingborough, NN8 4LW.
