Community groups are invited to attend an event to learn about funding opportunities available to them.
East Northamptonshire Council is holding the free ‘Meet the Funders’ event on Thursday, June 6, for community groups based in the area.
The event, taking place from 11.30am to 3pm at the council’s Thrapston offices in Cedar Drive, is a chance for members of local groups who are looking for financial support to discuss potential projects with representatives from funding organisations.
Funders already confirmed for the event include The Big (Community) Lottery; The Heritage Lottery; Northamptonshire Community Foundation; Mick George Community Fund; WREN Community Fund; The Co-operative Membership Community Fund;
Northamptonshire ACRE; Enable (for learning & skills funding); Charity Bank and Nene Valley Community Action, who will be running free Grantfinder searches.
Details of Northamptonshire County Council and East Northamptonshire Council’s community funds will also be available, as well as leaflets and information on a range of other funders.
Su Davies, external funding manager at East Northamptonshire Council, said: “This event will give community groups the chance to speak directly to funders, outline their projects and find out immediately whether they’d be eligible for funding support.
“The funders featured have simple application procedures and grants can be assessed in as little as two to three months.”
The event is open to all and will be run on a ‘drop in’ basis – no booking is required.
On-site parking is available free of charge.
Groups based in East Northamptonshire can also find out more about local funding opportunities by contacting Su Davies on 01832 742191 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
