A women who directed a documentary on her search for those responsible for her brother’s death is to attend an event in Corby being organised by the town branch of Amnesty International.
Lucia Cuevas, who directed the internationally acclaimed film The Echo of Pain of the Many, will be attending the screening and question and answer session at the Pen Green Research Base on Thursday, October 17.
The documentary records her return to Guatemala from exile in the UK to find the people responsible for the abduction, torture and murder of her brother and his family.
On her journey for justice she meets the families of others who disappeared during the 36-year civil war in Guatemala.
The event starts at 7pm and there will be no admission charge. Donations can be made to cover the cost of the event.
