A fundraising appeal on behalf of a 10-year-old who must fly to America for urgent treatment has hit its target in time for Christmas.
Mikey Wells, from Wellingborough, is due to begin proton therapy in January as he continues to fight a brain tumour.
His family had hoped to raise £20,000 in order to be with him during his treatment – which could take up to three months.
And that target was hit on Monday, December 22.
Mum Donna, who will accompany Mikey alongside husband Daniel and younger son Rhys, said: “It’s absolutely fantastic.
“A lady knocked on my door the other day and donated £50. I don’t know who she was. That’s how amazing people have been.
“It will help him.
“I don’t think he would have got through it without his brother there.”
