Police have said a body found in Llanelli on Monday is that of missing Kettering 25-year-old Richard Chandler.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed this morning (Wednesday, July 9) that formal identification had been completed.

Mr Chandler, a roofing contractor who was working on a project in the west Wales town, went missing last week.

His body was found in the Delta Lakes area of the town in Carmarthenshire.

He had spent the last few weeks working there, staying in the Miramar hotel in Station Road, Llanelli, on weekdays and travelling home to Northamptonshire at the weekends.

In a statement, his family described Mr Chandler as being loved by everyone who knew him.

The statement said: “He was a loving son, brother, grandson, father and partner.

“He was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed. We as a family would like to thank everyone for their kind support during this sad time.”

Police have also confirmed the investigation is complete and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. Police are preparing a file for the coroner.
