Money raised at a family fun day in Finedon on Sunday, August 19, will go to help a teenage boy who cannot talk to communicate.

The Finedon RAOB Dolben Lodge Buffs group is holding the event at the Finedon Dolben Cricket Club ground from 1pm to 5pm.

Money raised through a fundraising tug of war competition at the event will be donated to the Ben Talbot appeal.

Ben, of Finedon, has global development delay and is unable to walk or speak due to his condition.

The event will also include a number of games, activities and stalls.

There will also be a display of vintage vehicles and steam traction engines.

Admission is free and all games will be 20p per go.

Refreshments will be available and there will be a barbecue.

The Buffs have previously held a 1,100-mile wheelchair push around Finedon Green to raise money for Ben’s fund.

That event raised more than £3,000 towards paying for specialist communication equipment.
