Wellingborough Council has extended the garden waste service this year with extra collections being made in November.
But while the authority is extending the service this year, it has said it can’t make any guarantees of extensions in future years.
The last garden waste collections for the year will be the week of Tuesday, November 15, for residents that put their brown bins out with their green bins, and the week of Tuesday, November 22, for residents that put them out with their black bins.
Collections will then stop until they resume next March.
A collection calendar is available to download from the council website at www.wellingborough.gov.uk.
Black and green bins will be collected fortnightly as usual throughout the winter, and there will be no changes to the scheduled collection over the Christmas and New Year period.
Wellingborough Norse will be working Tuesday to Friday as normal, with green bins being collected Christmas week and black bins being collected New Year week.
Residents are reminded that the brown bin is for compostable garden waste only.
Items not accepted in the brown bin include plastic sacks, plant pots, kitchen waste, pet waste, soil, bricks and rubble.
Any gardeners who are still producing garden waste throughout the winter period are encouraged to take their garden waste to the nearest household waste recycling centre or compost at home.
Compost bins are on offer and available to order from www.getcomposting.com.
