Fruity delights will be on offer next month when the group South Court Environmental, in Northampton, hosts its Feast of Fools event.

Visitors will have the chance to drop in to Abington Lodge Barn for the group’s “traditional annual fruit binge” at its organic orchards and gardens in Taylor Avenue, on September 14 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

Entry is £2 for non members unless, as the website states: “They’re wearing a fool’s hat or at least a nice buttonhole.”

The following garden is open as part of the National Gardens Scheme, which raises money for various charities. For more information log onto www.ngs.org.uk

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 AND SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

Classic garden ornaments made by Haddonstone will be on display in the setting of walled manor gardens at The Forge House in Church Lane, East Haddon.

The garden is arranged on different levels, including fountains, planters, bird baths, sundials, ornamental flowers, clematis and trees, as well as contemporary and classical areas.

Haddonstone manufactures and sells all the ornaments they have on show in the garden, ranging from larger temple structures to the smallest statues.

The gardens will be open from 10am until 5pm. Admission costs £2.50 and children can enter free.
