Members of the farming community are being urged to attend an event aimed at tackling the problem of tractor and agricultural theft next month.
The farming community is often targeted by crime so the meeting, which is being held at Whittlebury Hall Hotel near Towcester and organised by Northamptonshire Police, is aiming to help prevent theft in the farming area.
Rural crime officer PC Claire Salmon said: “A farmer’s property is spread over many acres with stock and equipment often portable and easy to steal.
“I would like to encourage local farmers and anyone who is connected in the rural/farming community to attend this free meeting as it will provide invaluable information and advice on how best to protect their land and property.”
The meeting is going to be held by AVCIS (ACPO Vehicle Crime Intelligent Service).
Anyone attending should arrive at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start on Monday, December 3.
Officers hope the meeting will be beneficial to everyone who attends and hope they will gain an understanding of how to spot suspicious behaviour on their land.
