THE Wildlife Trust in Northamptonshire is looking for volunteers to take part in practical conservation days.
The work groups take place on most Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the county.
The next practical conservation day in the north of the county is set to take place on Wednesday in Short Wood, Oundle.
A day carrying out coppicing and shrub clearance will be taking place on Thursday at the Plens, Desborough.
Wildlife Trust staff or volunteer officers lead the tasks and those taking part are invited to take a packed lunch as well as durable clothing and footwear. Tools training and supervision are provided.
New volunteers are asked to contact the trust to arrange an informal chat with one of the reserve officers before starting.
Transport is provided from Lings Local Nature Reserve, Northampton, at 9.30am and returns at about 4.30pm.
Volunteers can also meet at the site but are requested to call ahead to check the task is still going ahead.
A spokesman said although the work is of a physical nature, activities can be tailored to suit volunteers of all ages and abilities. For more details about the opportunities call The Wildlife Trust on 01604 405285.
