Volunteers and countryside rangers have planted 3,000 trees at Sywell Country Park.

The tree-planting was part of an ongoing project to improve the plantation woodlands at the park to benefit a wide range of wildlife.

Trees included hazel, field maple, holly, hawthorn, crab apple, common buckthorn, wild privet, yew and rowan.

They were donated by Barclays Bank, Waitrose, Northampton 80 Lions, Jubilee Trees, Barclaycard and the Friends of Sywell Country Park.

The planting team included rangers and volunteers from the park’s friends group, Barclaycard, Barclays Bank, Moulton College and Northampton College.
