The fire service has cut a person free from a car after a crash in Kettering this afternoon (Wednesday, July 2).

Two cars were involved in the incident, which took place in Hawthorn Road at the junction with Argyll Street, and near Hawthorn Primary School, just before 2.30pm.

Two fire engines, two ambulances and a paramedics’ vehicle attended the scene, however it is not yet known if there are any injuries.

The vehicles involved were a silver Ford Ka, the rear part of which had been removed, and a black or dark blue Hyundai i10 vehicle, which had extensive damage to the driver’s side door.

The road had been re-opened at about 3.10pm and police officers had blocked off the vehicles to await recovery.
