THE county council has teamed up with Girlguiding Northamptonshire and Northamptonshire Scouts to help children be more prepared in the event of an emergency.
A new ‘in case of emergency’ activity badge has been developed for cubs and brownies to encourage them to learn about emergency planning and community resilience.
It has been developed through the Local Resilience Forum Welfare Group, which is made up of the various organisations that work together in an emergency, including NHS Northamptonshire, Northamptonshire Police, Salvation Army and St John Ambulance.
Jane Causebrook, county commissioner for Girlguiding Northamptonshire, said: “We are delighted to have been included in the organisation of this new and exciting venture. The Brownies loved helping design the badge and will get a great deal out of the Emergency Planning challenge.”
