Firefighters were called to tackle a large blaze at a hotel in Corby.

About 40 firefighters went to the scene of the fire which broke out at about 3.45pm at the Hampton By Hilton Hotel in Princewood Road yesterday (Saturday).

The police and ambulance service were also there.

Four people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation after the fire which involved bedrooms on the first and second floor of the hotel.

All the hotel guests were re-located.

Fire crews have now left the scene, but will be returning periodically to check the area.

A spokesman for the fire service said an investigation into the cause of the fire had been launched.
