The green light has been given to an extension to a town primary school, which will see it double in size.
Loatlands Primary School, in Desborough, will have seven extra classrooms, a new activities hall, additional car parking and hard play areas by the time work is completed in October 2014.
The facilities will also be available for use by town community groups.
Tom Lyons from GSS Architecture, which designed the extension, said: “These exciting developments at Loatlands Primary School will provide further teaching facilities within a flexible and vibrant learning environment.
“In addition to this, new dedicated break-out areas will be designed to increase the provision of informal, group-based learning.”
