CURIOS and collectibles, and creative art are the subjects of two courses being run by the Workers Educational Association this month.
The group provides unique educational courses for adults at various locations across the county.
The 10-week course on curios and collectibles is a must for all fans of Lovejoy, the Antiques Roadshow and similar programmes. It takes a look at the historical developments in style that influenced the development of all manner of items including furniture, ceramics, glass, silver, clocks, works of art and textiles.
The tutor is Peter Edwards and the fee is £67, but large discounts are available for those on benefits or low incomes. It takes place at KCU, 1 Stanier Close, Kettering on Tuesdays from 9.30 to 11.30am. The course starts on Tuesday.
On the same day, a 10-week creative writing course begins, also at KCU.
It is aimed at people who love words and have a good imagination.
The course hopes to teach people to think about different ways to use language.
