More than 70 children from Christopher Reeves Lower School in Podington took part in the sponsored pancake race.

Navigating an obstacle course of hoops, slaloms and jumping over a bench, each child had to flip the pancake three times and then race to cross the finish line.

Parents came out in force to cheer on their children and the children themselves were noisily cheering on their classmates.

After class heats, four children from each class took part in a final which saw one child from each class being named the winner coming away with a fantastic prize of a craft kit and some sweets.

The PTA holds the pancake race every year to raise money for the school and we’re hoping to beat last year’s fundraising total of £345!

Connells in Rushden kindly sponsored the event enabling us to buy the pancakes and prizes.

Funds raised this year will be put towards new playground equipment.
