Pupils at Lodge Park Academy, Corby, enjoyed the rare opportunity to take part in a mock trial with some of London’s top barristers.
They acted as the jury during a Kalisher Trust workshop, giving them an interesting insight into the issues criminal barristers face.
The trust aims to bring to life the day-to-day work of the criminal barrister, inspiring students to raise their aspirations and consider a career in law.
Lisa Cummings, assistant principal at Lodge Park Academy, which is sponsored by the David Ross Education Trust, said: “The Kalisher Trust workshop was a fantastic way for our students to learn about life as a barrister.
“They commented on what a great insight it gave them into the legal world, and were pleasantly surprised by how much they had to participate and contribute. They were shown both how to think logically and argue effectively.”
