Elderly residents at a Wellingborough care home got to enjoy some Easter fun today, with a special fun-packed event.

Families of residents at Westlands Residential Care Home, Oxford Street, Wellingborough, were invited to enjoy the event.

A DJ for the adults, a disco for the children, a buffet, and a bouncy castle were some of the activities that management had set up.

Activities Co-ordinator at the home, Daniel Ames, said he was hopeful residents would enjoy their day.

He said: “This is something we decided to organise quite a few weeks ago, probably just after Christmas.

“We have invited families along and made sure there is some fun for kids, like music and a bouncy castle, so it is a nice way for our residents to have fun and socialise with their family and other residents over Easter.

“We have a DJ so hopefully will enjoy the music and maybe have a little dance, but the most important thing is the chance to socialise.”

Ninety-four-year-old Reg Bowen, a resident of the home, said he was looking forward to the activities.

He said: “Yes, I am looking forward to it. The thing is, is that its all light-hearted stuff I would like to think, so its a nice bit of fun.”
