Rockingham Castle is opening for the new season with its annual Easter egg hunt.

The castle opens on Easter Sunday (April 20) when youngsters will be able to search for some of the dozens of fluorescent stars which will be hidden in the yew hedges in the grounds and exchange them for chocolate eggs.

The castle offers spectacular views across the Welland Valley and visitors can explore the public rooms and its extensive gardens.

Owner James Saunders Watson said: “The ground is finally drying out after the incredibly wet winter we have just experienced and we’re looking forward to a wonderful season ahead with the Easter egg hunt as the start of a full programme of events for us here at Rockingham.”

Rockingham Castle grounds and Walkers House Restaurant open at midday and the castle opens at 1pm with last entry at 4.30pm.
