The Highways Agency has published advice for motorists using the A14 near Kettering next week as road widening work continues.

Drivers using the road between junctions seven and nine in both directions have been warned to allow an extra 10 to 15 minutes for journeys made between 8pm and 6am from the evening of December 8/December 9 to the evening of December 12/December 13.

Overnight on Tuesday, December 10, the entry and exit slip roads will be shut at junction eight westbound, which joins the A14 with the A43 to Northampton.

And overnight on Thursday, December 12, the entry and exit slip roads will be shut at junction nine westbound, which joins the A14 with the A509 to Wellingborough.

The work is allowing an extra lane to be built on the A14 in each direction.
