Driver was racially abused

Officers in Kettering are appealing for witnesses after a man was racially abused as he sat in his car at traffic lights on Friday afternoon.

The 35-year-old man was sat in his car at traffic lights in Montagu Street, near The Swan public House, when another man started shouted racist abuse at him.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire police said: “The incident was unprovoked and is believed to have been witnessed by others who were in the area at the time.”

The offender was a white, around 6ft tall, of medium build and was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who may have witnessed the incident.
