Youngsters from Little Harrowden Primary School celebrated World Maths Day and World Book Day by dressing up as characters from Roald Dahl books.

Teacher Kerry White said: “We wanted to link World Book Day and World Maths Day.

“All of the children and staff dressed up as their favourite characters.”

Acting headteacher Jacinta Foo said: “We had special guests including Mr Willy Wonka, the Grand High Witch, the BFG and a particularly scary-looking spider who was living in a giant peach.

“The children visited different magical rooms, exploring maths through the fantastic storytelling of Roald Dahl. Many of the children had dressed up in super costumes and we had a large selection of characters.

“My particular favourites were the Oompa Loompas – I do hope the orange face paint comes off. Thank you for getting into the spirit of the World Maths Day theme.”
