A DRAMA student has been chosen to take part in a major festival at a London theatre.

Matthew Neighbour, of Oundle, is currently in his third year at the Cygnet Training Theatre, in Exeter, and has been picked to represent his drama school at Shakespeare’s Globe theatre in London.

The student is set to perform a scene from Gothic novel The Changeling as part of the Sam Wanamaker Festival on Sunday, April 1.

He will be joining 41 other actors from the UK’s top drama schools in a weekend festival which will culminate in a performance in the midst of a packed Globe theatre.

Education director for The Globe theatre Patrick Spottiswoode said: “The Sam Wanamaker festival is always an exciting and festive celebration involving the UK’s most promising classical actors.”
