Families have enjoyed trips out during the summer holidays thanks to the Crafting Angels, based at Park Road Baptist Church, Rushden, who donated over £1,000, raised at their Christmas Fair.

Rushden-based charity FAIR used the money to take families who attend its family centre for an outing to West Lodge Farm Park.

A spokesman for the charity said: “They enjoyed meeting the animals and going on the tractor ride. One parent said ‘My children have never been to the farm and it was a good enjoyable and fun family day’. Another parent said ‘The farm was very good, I really enjoyed it and the kids had a great time’.

“The families who came attend a group on Mondays during the term-time, called PETAL – Positive Encouragement Through Active Learning. The group offers a relaxed environment where parents can take part in activities, learn new skills and share a free lunch, there is a crèche available.”
