An animal charity has said it cannot take in any more dogs because re-homing is the worst staff have seen in 15 years.

Animals in Need in Little Irchester has reached crisis point with the number of dogs in its care.

A charity spokesman said: “Dog homing is at its poorest in all the 15 years I have been in this job, and I am panicking.

“If we don’t re-home, we have no space to save the next needy bunch wanting help.

“This seems to be an issue all over the country as several rescue homes have been saying exactly the same thing.

“I really do not know why as cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other animals are homing as usual.”

Anyone wanting to help can attend a re-homing day at Pine Tree Farm from midday until 3pm on Sunday, April 6.
