Work has started on dozens of new houses in Oundle.

A turf-cutting ceremony was held to officially mark work starting on the homes at Queen’s Court.

Oundle mayor Gwen Radcliffe joined Kier Living Eastern land director Daniel Browne and Henry Barney, managing director of Grace Homes, along with others from the two building companies at the Herne Road site.

Cllr Radcliffe said: “Oundle has seen a lot of growth in recent years and Queen’s Court has the right mix of housing needed in the town today, starter family homes, smaller places for downsizers who may want to stay in Oundle and some desperately needed affordable homes.”

Kier Living Eastern is building 56 homes at the site and Grace Homes is building an additional 30.

A sales cabin will be installed on site in May and showhomes will be launched in August.
