TWO villages are planning a three-day celebration to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
And the organisers at Cottingham and Middleton are making sure there will be something on the programme to suit every age group.
On Sunday, June 3, there will be a service of thanksgiving, starting at 6pm, at St Mary Magdalene’s Church, Cottingham.
Villagers are invited to write their thoughts about the Queen to display on a wall of prayer at the church.
On Monday, June 4, starting at 6.30pm, there will be a barbecue at Woodhollow, Church Street. From 7pm the choir Valley Voice will be singing songs from each decade of the Queen’s reign, followed by a disco provided by Mr Bip. Tickets for the barbecue are £12.
On Tuesday, June 5, starting at 2pm, there will be a family fun day at the village hall annexe and recreation ground.
The fun will include a parade of queens, traditional games, a free vintage tea party and a jubilee exhibition.
