Mystery men and ladies incognito came to The Ritz in Desborough when it hosted a glamorous Venetian-style masquerade ball in aid of Cransley Hospice.

Over 150 masked guests attended the charity fundrasing event organised by Chris Wykes, in memory of his father who died of cancer in 2011.

Ballgoers danced the night to live music from Keyboard & Sax and DJ Bill Burton disco anthems filled the dance floor, which with the raffle, raised £3,000. Chris said: “The evening surpassed my wildest expectations. “I can’t thank everyone involved enough for their support and most importantly the guests who bought the tickets and helped raise an amazing amount of money for an organisation very close to my heart.

“Cransley Hospice helped my dad get through his treatment and are invaluable to this area. I finally fulfilled my promise to him that I would one day raise money for them. I think he’d have been proud.”
