A team of cheerleading youngsters from a Desborough school took top spot at a national competition.
Havelock Junior School’s Rising Spirit Cheerleading Squad travelled to Southend-on-Sea on Sunday, July 17, where they took part in the National Schools Cheerleading championships, called Future Cheer.
The 26-strong team wowed the judges and left Southend having scooped first place in the event.
They were pitted against more than 1,600 young cheerleaders in more than 30 teams.
Squad coach Robyn Morrison said: “Havelock School are now national champions. The Spirit has risen!”
