There is a fault with the signalling system at Oakley near Bedford caused by multiple track circuit failures.

The problem is between Bedford and Kettering and is disrupting East Midland Trains on the London St Pancras/Nottingham/Sheffield route.

A statement recently posted on the East Midlands Trains website states: “Network Rail teams are on site working to fix the problem, they are currently checking fuses linked with the location of the failure.

“The line is currently open and all of our trains on the route will be delayed by up to 30 minutes in either direction between Bedford and Kettering.

“We are expecting the line to fully re-open in the next two hours.

“Our normal train service is expected to resume on the affected route shortly after.

“You should catch your planned train, although you may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.”
