The Highways Agency has warned road users to expect slight delays to journeys along the A14 near Kettering this week.

As part of works to widen the road, lane closures will be in place from 8pm each evening between today (Monday, November 25) and Saturday, November 30.

The roads will fully reopen again at 6am on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings and at 7am on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The closures will affect the A14 in both directions between junctions seven and nine, and the Highways Agency says drivers should allow an extra 10 to 15 minutes for their journeys.

For safety reasons, a temporary 50mph speed restriction will be imposed 24 hours a day between junctions 7 and 9, until 21 December 2013.
