The eastbound carriageway of the A14 between junctions 7 and 9 at Kettering will be closed on Thursday night (August 14) as part of the Highways Agency’s ongoing improvement scheme.
The agency said the work should have taken place at the weekend but had to be postponed due to the excessive wet weather.
The carriageway will close at 8pm tomorrow until 6am the following morning (Friday, August 15) to allow contractors to prepare for a forthcoming contraflow switch.
Through traffic will be diverted off the A14 at junction 7 and along the A43 and A6116 to re-join the A14 at junction 12. A separate diversion will be in place for local traffic.
In the event of bad weather on Thursday the closure will take place overnight on Friday instead.
