David Hawker, who has appeared in films alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, is back on the big screen in the new Batman movie.
Mr Hawker, 67, of Rushden, appears on-screen in The Dark Knight Rises in a scene alongside Christian Bale.
He has previously appeared in The Da Vinci Code, Love Actually, Casino Royale and Martin Scorsese’s Hugo. He also recently appeared alongside Johnny Depp in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows. Mr Hawker filmed his scenes for The Dark Knight Rises – which features A-listers including Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway and Joseph Gordon-Levitt – in Cardington near Bedford last year.
Mr Hawker said: “Cardington has these enormous airspace sheds, one of them is used considerably for filming and the Batman scene I was in was there. There was one day of rehearsing and three days of filming.
“People have told me you see my face quite clearly. The scene is a prison, a dungeon, we are in this dungeon prison and one chap makes an attempt to escape by climbing out. He falls but then Christian Bale attempts and he succeeds and we are all cheering him on.”
Mr Hawker has not yet seen the film but says he will probably go and watch it. He said: “It was great fun, a great atmosphere. It’s probably the most successful film that I have been noticeable in.”
Mr Hawker’s noteable recent appearances include an appearance on panel show Celebrity Juice.
He also appears in Emeli Sande’s video for her song Heaven.
