A POPULAR reading dog put smiles on young faces during a visit to a school.
Reading dog Danny, a greyhound, visited Maplefields School in Corby on Thursday.
The visit was to launch his new book, Danny Goes To London, which has already proved so popular it has sold out on Amazon.
Headteacher Linda Morgan said: “Danny comes in regularly with Tony Nevett, his owner, as part of the Bark and Read scheme. The children read to him either individually or in groups and it has really helped with their self-esteem, their engagement with reading and their interest in reading.
“The children really look forward to it. We’re an all-ages school and Danny works mainly with the primary children, but the secondary children want to work with him as well.”
