Dangers of alcohol put in the spotlight

Corby Council is running a week highlighting the dangers of too much alcohol at Christmas.

The council’s Community Safety Team is holding an Alcohol Week of Action event and they’re hoping to pass on the message to as many people as possible.

The team will giving out alcohol awareness advice at Asda from 2pm to 4pm tomorrow (Friday).

On Saturday night, they will be outside Rubix nightclub, with Corby Street Pastors, handing out bottles of water from midnight. Rubix will also be promoting their alcohol-free cocktails in support of the campaign.

Corby Council leader Tom Beattie said: “While we want people to enjoy themselves, we are committed to making sure people are safe.”
