A Rushden dance group has held a coffee morning in its latest charity fundraiser, raising hundreds of pounds.

The Happy Feet Line Dancers pick a different charity to support every six months. They are currently raising funds for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

Their latest event, held on Saturday, August 31 at the St John Ambulance Hall in Fitzwilliam Street, raised almost £1,000.

“It’s absolutely brilliant,” said organiser Linda Toleman. “We have had more than 100 people through the doors.”

She added that the group had raised £1,700 for the Air Ambulance since March. The local branch of the British Heart Foundation is set to be the next charity to benefit from the generosity of Happy Feet.

“It’s the local charities we look at,” Linda added. “We get together as a group and decide on local charities.”
