Cyclist suffers broken wrist after being attacked by gang in Kettering

The 32-year-old man was cycling along the path in the park area which joins Spring Rise and Springfield Road, at about 4.20pm, when he saw a group of four young men walking towards him.

As he rode past them one of the men stuck out his arm, knocking the cyclist off his bike.

One of the group then kicked the victim as he lay on the floor, causing swelling and bruising and a broken wrist.

The group of young men then walked out of the park towards Springfield Road.

The first offender who knocked the cyclist from his bike was white, aged 18 to 20, of medium build, 5ft 10in, with very short dark hair and wore a grey tracksuit and a dark scarf around his lower face.

The second offender was also white, aged 18 to 20, slim, around 6ft and wore a black tracksuit and green Parka coat with the hood pulled up.

The third and fourth offenders were also both white, aged 18 to 20 and slim, about 6ft and wearing hooded tops with the hoods up.

As well as injuring the victim, the offenders also caused significant damage to his bike.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information about it.
