Residents are being reminded that The Cube in Corby will be closed all day on Wednesday when the Queen and Prince Philip visit the town.
The swimming pool will also be closed until 5.30pm and the Cube car park will be closed to the public from 6pm tomorrow until 5.30pm on Wednesday.
A spokesman for Corby Council said: “The swimming pool and car park will re-open after the royal visit, once all the barriers have been taken down but The Cube will be closed all day on Wednesday.”
The Queen and Prince Philip are visiting Corby as part of their Diamond Jubilee tour of the East Midlands.
More than 300 residents, young and old, are set to show just how much talent Corby has when they perform for the royal visitors.
They will be dancing, diving, singing and swimming during displays at Corby pool and The Core theatre.
Leader of Corby Council, Cllr Tom Beattie, said: “We are very proud of each and every person, young and old, who is taking part in the Queen’s visit. With it planned to take less than an hour, it is amazing that such a wide range of performances and entertainment is being showcased.
“It makes us all very pleased that more than 300 people from the local area will have special memories of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
“You have to win Britain’s Got Talent for that kind of opportunity, so well done to everyone taking part.”
MP for Corby and East Northants, Louise Mensch, said: “The whole town is bursting with excitement with the anticipation of the Queen’s visit to Corby. It’s going to be a fantastic day, and Her Royal Highness will enjoy a variety of performances from a diving display in the Olympic pool, to Irish and Highland dancing displays, among many others. This will be the perfect opportunity for Corby to show the country all the talent and tradition it holds, and I cannot wait to experience it”
