A woman was held around the throat and strangled by a man during an alleged assault in Northamptonshire.

The incident happened sometime between 6pm and 9pm on Thursday, July 23, in St Leonard’s Road, Far Cotton, Northampton.

A man approached a woman in the street, held her around the throat and began to strangle her until a member of the public intervened.

The man was white, about 6ft 8in, slim, with short dark hair and a short beard.
