A woman was slapped when two teenage boys tried to steal her mobile phone in Kettering on New Year’s Eve.

The incident happened at about 11pm when the 35-year-old victim was walking along Ivy Road.

She was approached by two teenage boys at the junction of Almond Road, one of whom demanded she give him her mobile phone.

When she said she hadn’t got one, he grabbed and slapped her, she shouted for help and both boys ran off.

The first offender was white, about 5ft 8in, aged 15 or 16 years old and skinny, wearing a black beanie hat, a red hooded top and light jeans.

He had acne scars on his face and an earring in his left ear.

The other boy was also aged 15 or 16, about 5ft 5in, chubby and with short, highlighted, blond hair.

He was wearing a blue hooded top with white stripes and jeans.
