Woman’s wheelchair stolen from car

A thief broke in to a car and stole a woman’s wheelchair.

The vehicle was parked in a disabled parking bay in Moulton Road, Holcot, when it was broken into some time between 3pm on Wednesday, March 6, and 11am on Friday, March 8.

A police spokesman said: “The offender broke in to the boot of a silver Ford Mondeo and stole a customised Quickie GP wheelchair.

“The wheelchair has a black leather detachable seat and is valued between £1,200 and £1,700.

“The victim, a 43-year-old woman, is reliant on the wheelchair, and officers are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area or have any information that would help locate the stolen wheelchair.”

Witnesses to the incident, or anyone with information about it, is asked to call police on 101 or information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
