Woman’s jaw cracked in assault

POLICE officers are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Corby.

A 48-year-old woman who was walking into the town centre along Wood Street at around 11am on Saturday (November 17) was approached by a man who asked if she wanted to buy clothes. When she refused, he asked for money and when she refused to give him any he assaulted her and cracked her jaw and ribs, and caused dental injuries.

The offender, who ran off towards the town centre, is described as white, 5ft 3in to 5ft 4in, about 24 years old, with an olive complexion and short dark hair.
