British Transport Police (BTP) officers have released images of a man they would like to speak to after a camera was destroyed near Corby station

PC Michael LeConte, from British Transport Police, said: “A camera near Corby station was destroyed, along with an alarm system.

“The camera was hit repeatedly by a man with a large stick, and we would really like to speak to him.”

Since the incident, officers have distributed images of the man on police intelligence systems, but so far to no avail. They are now asking the public to help identify the man.

PC LeConte continued: “This was a mindless act of vandalism which significantly damage a camera which we had deployed in the area following an increase in the number of cable theft and trespass offences.

“If anyone recognises the man in the pictures, or the footage, then please get in touch as a matter of urgency.”
