A man was caught on camera as he appeared to try to force his way in through the window of a Rothwell home.
The man, who is believed to be aged between 20 and 26, was caught by CCTV cameras repeatedly trying to break into a house in Gordon Street.
Officers investigating the attempted burglary have now released the footage, which shows the man walking into the garden of the house at about 5.50am on Wednesday, August 20 and attempt to break into both a car, a garage and the main house before trying to force open the kitchen window with a screwdriver.
Despite his repeated attempts to get into the property, the man left empty-handed.
The suspect was wearing a blue checked jacket with a hood, blue jeans and white trainers.
He was also carrying a black JD sports bag.
He had short, sandy-coloured hair and was slim.
